Video: 2JZ-swapped Mustang doing donuts

Car tuning professional Trevor Jameson made a drift car out of his Ford Mustang by squeezing Toyota’s legendary 2JZ mill under the hood. The whole project only took one month to complete.

Given the time limit, the attention to detail is truly remarkable. The engine bay looks clean and tidy, and the green insert on the cover echoes the interior trim scheme. A Garrett GTX 3076-R turbocharger lifts the nominal output to 512 hp (382 kW), and a Nissan 370Z transmission is used to send the torque to the wheels. Justin Pawlak suspension at the front end gives the muscle car enviable turn capability.

Perhaps not feeling quite done yet, Jameson overkills things by hooking a metal cart onto the car to keep all the spare wheels, tires and other expendable parts in.

The Japanese heart transplant seems to have gone exceptionally well for the American classic, judging by how easily it did donuts circling all around its cart.
