Genesis has updated its G70 sedan and wagon lineup on its domestic market, barely retouching the exteriors but landing both cars with important new features and engine upgrades. You can already make a reservation.
Starting now, the base engine is a 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder mill rated at 304 PS (300 hp / 224 kW) and 422 Nm (311 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is eight-speed automatic, and customers in South Korea can choose between RWD and AWD. For the other markets, Genesis continues to bundle the G70 with two 2.0T petrol options and a 2.2T diesel. In Korea, none of those are available; the only other option is the 3.3-liter V6 rated at 370 PS (365 hp / 272 kW), but it is only available for the sedan.
The new G70 sports an updated badge, two new body finish options (Kawah Blue and Bartna Grey), and comes with a new set of wheels 18 and 19 inches large. Inside, the HVAC is now controlled via a touch-sensitive remote. New bi-color trims are available, too, named Forest Blue/Vanilla Beige, Obsidian Black/Vanilla Beige, and Obsidian Black/Fog Gray. The base trim level now brings along ventilation for the front seats and heating for the rear ones, a bezel-free mirror and Brembo brakes.
Prices start from 43.15 million KRW, which roughly converts into U.S. $32,500. This amount gets you a sedan with the base four-cylinder engine. The estate starts from 45.11 million KRW, or around $34,000.
