Katia Bassi, former Communications and Marketing Director at Lamborghini, has been appointed the Managing Director of Silk-FAW, an Italian-Chinese joint enterprise that intends to import China-made supercars to Europe. This includes the Hongqi S9 designed by the renowned Walter de Silva (featured in the gallery).
Aside from Lamborghini, Katia Bassi assumed high positions at Ferrari and Aston Martin, and has recently made it into a Forbes top-100 list of Italy’s most successful businesswomen.
In her new office, Bassi will join a team of other rogue bosses of the automotive industry, some examples including ex-Ferrari Amedeo Felisa and ex-Alfa Romeo Roberto Fedeli, the latter currently the CTO of Silk-FAW.
The company was founded last winter with headquarters in Emilia Romagna, not far at all from Lamborghini and Ferrari HQ. It will specialize in designing and selling ultra-deluxe sports cars.
