Isuzu Mu-X SUV gets an update in Thailand

Isuzu has refreshed its Mu-X body-on-frame off-roader based on the D-Max chassis. The production has already started in Thailand.

Exterior changes are rather extensive and start with new bumpers, a larger front grille and more modern-looking lights all around. The RS version additionally gets revised front fascia and grille, 20-inch wheels and assorted décor. Isuzu doesn’t mention any technical upgrades for it, though.

Middle and higher trim levels now take advantage of a 7-inch digital dashboard. The multimedia display still measures 9 inches corner-to-corner, but adds support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A new and improved camera is mentioned in the driver’s aids list. The seats and the door panels have been redesigned and the trimming materials improved all around. The RS trim is red and black now.

Like before, there are only two powertrain options. A smaller 1.9-liter diesel produces 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, while its larger 3.0-liter counterpart makes 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW) and 430 Nm (321 lb-ft). Six-speed automatic is the only transmission available in Thailand. AWD and reduction gear are restricted to the top trim levels, RS included.
