Carmaker Lexus is thinking about returning the CT model to its product range, BestCarWeb claims citing its own sources. While the original car was a gas-powered hatchback (you can see it in our gallery here), the new one is being envisioned as a fully electric SUV.
It seems that the automaker decided to change the body style due to the market shift from hatchbacks towards SUVs. As such, it appears possible that the new CT will occupy the niche between the UX and NX models.
Per BestCarWeb, buyers will be able to choose from a wide variety of powertrains including petrol, hybrid and all-electric. The petrol version is reportedly going to offer a choice between a 2.0-liter and a 2.5-liter engine.
The carmaker has not commented on the rumor yet.
