As you probably know, the Emira was the first new Lotus sports car made in ten years. Soon, the British company will offer it in a new special edition available to anyone interested.
According to Lotus, the new Emira GT4 will debut on official terms on Hethel Test Track in the UK late this year. It will be available with only one engine, which will be rated at 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW) in conjunction with an xTrac six-speed transmission. Paddle shifters will be provided for easy switching.
The dry weight of the car will drop down to just 1,260 kilograms (2,777 lbs). The manufacturer does not specify how it will be achieved, but it would be logical for the track-ready Emira GT4 to drop some of the unneeded equipment, such as the HVAC.
Elsewhere, the newcomer benefits from upgraded suspension, more efficient brakes, 18-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli GT4 tires, a roll cage, six-point safety harnesses, and a Motec telemetry panel instead of a conventional dashboard.
