Mazda launches a Roadster birthday special in Japan

The Japanese automaker held a special event in Japan to introduce the Roadster 35th Anniversary Edition. It’s a slightly retouched MX-5/Miata model for the domestic market.

The car comes finished in Cherry Red with a light beige soft top and a matching interior trim. It has limited edition badges all around the exterior and headrests embossed with the “35 Anniversary” logo. Everything else stays stock, including the powertrain.

According to Mazda, the production quantity won’t actually be limited, but every car will nonetheless get a unique serial number. The prices are pending, and the sales have yet to start.
