This is the Mercedes-AMG C63 wagon before you are supposed to see it

The standard Mercedes C-Class premiered at the beginning of the year, and the new Mercedes-AMG C63 is not that far away anymore, either. The latest bunch of spy photos reveals an estate/wagon variant of that model.

This would not be the first time the car cropped up on spy shots; we saw it testing in Scandinavia in cold weather once. This time around, the sighting was near the Nürburgring Circuit.

Interestingly enough, the masked vehicle has two different wheel pairs: one black and Y-spoked and the other silver with a dual-spoke pattern. The images also reveal aggressive-looking bumpers and the mandatory Panamericana grille.

It is official that the powertrains will be largely revised. Speaking in an interview, Christian Frueh confirmed that the C63 will lose its bi-turbo V8, instead gaining a hybrid system worth 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. This would make it considerably more powerful than the current-gen C63 S featured in the video here.
