Mercedes-AMG GT spins off a F1-themed special edition

The Mercedes-AMG GT supercar (see video) can now be obtained in a limited trim known as the Motorsport Collectors Edition. It is dedicated to the company’s recent modest successes at Formula One.

Although the most powerful AMG GT on the market right now is a hybrid, this one relies solely on a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to send 612 PS (603 hp / 450 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-t) of torque to all four wheels. It comes finished in black with tri-point star ornaments on the sides and turquoise accents paying homage to Petronas, sponsor of the company’s F1 racing team.
