Nvidia warns against haste with autopilot tech

The leading graphic card company says advanced self-driving AI is not going to be ready for mass use in another few years.

Ali Kani, the boss of Nvidia’s automotive division who deals with the implementation of self-driving technologies, believes that a truly autonomous car won’t emerge in the 2020s. Even in the next decade, developing such an intelligence will be a challenging task.

To expedite the process, the IT corporation has launched the development of a large linguistic model not unlike ChatGPT, but one that operates with on-car camera footage instead of words. It should become the next step forward in mastering the technology, but don’t expect it to become available to the masses until several years later.
