Porsche 911 Sport Classic spotted testing on the ‘Ring

The Porsche 911 is a crowded family, but many of us remember the exquisite Sport Classic model that last came out in 250 units and was sold out within 48 hours. Now, a test vehicle was spotted at the North Loop that heralds the comeback of the icon.

The prototype sighted sports a ducktail spoiler, a two-dome roof and wider fenders. Its front fascia and rear end are largely identical to those of the 911 Turbo S. Witnesses say the exhaust sounded differently from the regular 911, however.

This makes us believe that the new Sport Classic may get the same powertrain as the freshly revealed Porsche 911 GTS. That one had a 3.0-liter inline-six twin-turbo rated at 478 PS (471 hp / 352 kW).
