TechArt unleashes a Carrera T for purists

When it presented the 911 T (Touring) in the distant year 1968, Porsche explained that it put driving enjoyment over things like raw acceleration. It revived the car under the name Carrera T not long ago, but it arguably lost its identity in a market crowded with high-performance offerings. Enter the TechArt TsportR, a remedy to the image of the modern Carrera T.

As you may remember, the original car uses a 3.0-liter flat-six engine twin-turbocharged to 394 PS (389 hp / 290 kW) and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft) of torque. It’s fairly agile with 4.3 seconds from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) and a top speed slightly above 290 km/h (180 mph), but arguably not too exciting for the price.

Tuned by TechArt, the same car begins sending 505 PS (498 hp / 371 kW) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels, the latter peaking in the range of 2,500–6,500 RPM. It’s a much faster sprinter with 3.4 seconds to 100 km/h and otherwise on par with the latest GT3 in terms of performance, the tuner claims.

The full treatment includes a carbon-fiber aero kit, a performance exhaust system and assorted tuner’s emblems (optional). The steering mechanism and the suspension stay completely stock, and the interior makes do with only minor gimmicks, like a wooden shifter knob.

All prices are upon request only.
