Renault discontinues Mobilize Limo EV, an utter and complete failure

Renault Group has a sub-brand in Europe named Mobilize, which was created specifically to produce cars for leasing, ridesharing and taxi services. Its first model – the Limo – had targeted the latter category, but failed to attract enough attention.

Renault Group reckoned that launching an all-electric sedan for use in taxi fleets was a viable idea. However, in reality, the more budget-conscious taxi operators found it too expensive, while the more premium-focused ones found it too basic for the price.

According to a French newspaper, Largus, the Limo has already been pulled from sale in all countries where it was offered. In a recent report of Renault Group, the company admits that the sales were dismal – 67 units in 2022 and 7 in 2023.

In case you needed a reminder, the Limo commands a single electric motor with 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque. It manages up to 450 km (280 miles) on a charge.
