Croatia-based automaker Rimac Automobili has brought an ultra-exclusive electric hypercar to The Quail this year: the Nevera Time Attack. Envisioned as a limited edition celebrating Rimac’s previous achievements and records, it has a distinct exterior trim and will come out in a batch 12 units (already sold out).
The first owner took delivery of his car right at the motorsports gathering last weekend. It had a black and green exterior with a matching cabin. Rimac said the striking Lightning Green color was named after a rare weather phenomenon: the greenish sky before a thunderstorm.
That was not Mate Rimac’s only source of inspiration, though: when he was a young man, he converted a BMW 3-Series to run on electric power. The car in his garage was finished in the exact same shade of green. 14 years ago, Rimac Automobili was born, and in 2012, the e-M3 set the first acceleration record officially recognized by the FIA.
The remaining 11 examples of the Nevera Time Attack shipped either in naked carbon or black. The buyers could still decide on a custom color for the accents, with some options including Rimac Racing Red and Stiniva E-Blue. If you were wondering what the inscription on the lower front fender is, it reads ‘Dedicated to those coming after us’. There is also a commemorative plaque inside the cabin with the words ‘Time Attack: 1 of 12’ engraved on it.
Speaking of the records set by Rimac, the company claimed more than 20 of those in the last year alone.
