Urban Automotive brings a Defender convertible to Goodwood

A topless Land Rover Defender built by two renowned European tuning companies has graced the Goodwood show last week, looking like the last thing in the world you’d want to get dirty.

Netherlands-based Heritage Customs was responsible for cutting off the roof, while the remainder of the job was carried out by Urban Automotive in the UK. The off-roader ended up with fender flares, a vented hood, LED DRLs and carbon-fiber mirror caps. Aero flaps were added to the front bumper and 23-inch WX-2 R wheels were put in the arches along with Yokohama Advan Sport tires.

Since weather isn’t always clement in the UK, the Defender received a folding soft top. To keep the body rigid and the passengers safe, Urban also added roll bars over Recaro seats. The trim mainly consists of vivid orange leather and carbon-fiber accents.

Full pricing is private, but Heritage Customs asks at least €85,000 for the Defender roof removal. It includes the soft top, but everything else costs extra.
