Zacoe redefines modern BMW M2 with a styling upgrade

The real Carrera GT arrived two decades ago to sit on top of Porsche’s model lineup and compete with the likes of the formidable Ferrari Enzo. Well-kept examples tend to go for $1,000,000 and more these days, so it’s no surprise that some tuners believe they can sell replicas at one-tenth of that amount.
$100,000 is arguably not that much for a Porsche in good condition, but what you see here is a mere 2000 Boxster. Granted, it had its wheelbase extended by 307 mm (12 inches), its track and body kit widened and the entire exterior overhauled to resemble that of the genuine supercar. We’d say the result looks solid except for a few unexpected panel gaps and wonky proportions – a sad but unavoidable side effect of working with a smaller donor car than needed. Those wheels, on the other hand, have no excuse being on a Porsche. Not even with those Porsche hubcaps.
The seller admits that the oily bits under the hood stayed stock during the transformation. This means that the faux Carrera GT still relies on the Boxster’s 3.2-liter flat-six mill rated at 258 PS (254 hp / 190 kW). That’s a long shot from the original’s ten cylinders, 5.7 liters of displacement and 612 PS (603 hp / 450 kW). In fact, slammed hydraulic suspension is the only mechanical upgrade mentioned.
The question is, would you fork over one hundred grand for a 25-year-old Porsche?
