Suzuki Hustler puts on its best Jeep impression

Japanese tuning company DAMD has presented yet another styling package for the Suzuki Hustler, dressing the Kei car in a suit reminiscent of the Jeep Wrangler. The package is called Damd Carabina and targets light off-road enthusiasts.

Once retrofitted, the urban crossover starts resembling the U.S.-made SUV thanks to an immediately recognizable radiator grille installed between round two headlamps. There are eight vertical slits instead of seven, though – most likely to avoid legal claims.

Also included in the kit are boxy-looking bumpers, Jeep-style taillight trims and a black tailgate stripe with the name of the styling spelled out on it. There are vintage-style wheels clad in off-road tires, too. The interior stays stock except for the upholstery, which the tuner proposes replacing with something that looks like it comes from an older era.

Some of the prices are already official. For instance, the wheels come in at ¥341,000, the front fascia kit costs ¥173,800, and the roof rack adds ¥75,900.

As a Kei car, the Hustler maxes out at a 0.66-liter turbocharged engine delivering 64 PS (63 hp / 47 kW) to all four wheels through a continuously variable transmission.
