Tank 300 may go diesel in China

Chinese automaker Tank has just registered a new version of its model 300, putting a 2.4-liter diesel engine under the hood with 186 PS (183 hp / 137 kW).

The same power unit is used on other Great Wall Motor Group cars, like the Haval H9. The company used to say that Tank SUVs would never go diesel due to “prestige” considerations. It looks like it may have changed its mind.

There is still no proper announcement of the Tank 300 Diesel – just a patent application that may or may not find use.
