Nissan GT-R takes on a 1,700-HP Toyota Supra, regrets it

The Toyota Supra Mk4 series, which saw the daylight in 1993, could hold its own against much more expensive supercars. In fact, the fourth generation is still wildly popular among collectors. Why? Watch the video, you’ll understand at once.

In case we need to spell it out: given enough effort, you could squeeze virtually any amount of horsepower out of the car’s inline-six engine. Even decades ago, tuners have managed to push it past the 1,000-hp (745-kW) mark. Imagine the possibilities opening up today!

Naturally, the particular Toyota Supra Mk4 featured in the video also received its share of drag racing upgrades. Specifically, it gained a nitrous oxide injection system and a power boost to over 1,700 hp (1,268 kW) at the crank. Racing against it is a bone-stock Nissan GT-R painted black and a Yamaha R1 superbike.

Given the enormous performance gaps between the three, predicting the outcome is trivial. The guy who drove the GT-R did his very best, but there was no way he could take over that Supra.
