Danish automaker Zenvo has removed the wraps off its ultimate creation – the Aurora, a hybrid hypercar that combines the most powerful V12 in existence with electric motors for unprecedented performance.
Specifically, the combustion engine has four turbochargers and 6.6 liters of displacement, allowing it to deliver 1,250 PS (1,233 hp / 919 kW) to the transmission. Depending on your choice, it can receive assistance from either one or three electric motors rated at 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW) each. The combined performance thus reaches 1,450 PS (1,430 hp / 1,066 kW) in the base spec and 1,850 PS (1,825 hp / 1,361 kW) in the top spec.
In the standard configuration, the car has two driven wheels in the back. The second and third electric motors are installed on the front axle and drive one wheel each for a smart AWD system with precise torque control. The company also talks about a ‘hybrid’ automatic transmission, but doesn’t reveal any technical details.
Before liquids, the Zenvo Aurora weighs between 1,300 and 1,450 kilos (2,866–3,197 pounds). Its aerodynamic components yield 880 kilos (1,940 pounds) of downforce at 250 km/h (155 mph). Sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 2.3 seconds.
From the design point of view, the car is built around a modular carbon-fiber monocoque. The photos show the two main versions – Tur (green) and Agil (reddish). The former has a more reserved exterior styling, but is unparalleled in terms of acceleration. The latter has a giant rear wing and other aero parts that make it slightly less fast, but it handles better and enables sharper cornering.
