24-year-old, moderately used Nissan GT-R sells for $442k

Finding a well-kept and unmodified Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) is quite the challenge nowadays, with collectors handing over six digits for such cars. Case in point: this rare M-Spec Nür machine that went for $442,000 on BaT the other day.

Nissan only produced 285 Nürburgring-themed R34 Godzillas back in the day, with this specific example leaving the factory in 2002. Compared to the stock car, the M-Spec Nür featured upgraded camshafts, sturdier engine mounts, a different head gasket and reworked cooling. The company also tweaked the ECU for performance and offered an oil cooler as a paid option.

The car pictured here had around 60,000 kilometers (37,000 miles) on the chassis at the moment of sale, but only 15,000 km (9,320 miles) or so on the engine. The reason being, a previous owner had the stock RB26DETT inline-six engine swapped out for a more technologically sophisticated R2 mill. The output isn’t specified, but it typically lies above 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW).

Adding to the value of this particular example is its rare Millenium Jade exterior finish. The cabin features an Eclipse head unit, but otherwise stays stock and looks exceptionally well-preserved.

While this may seem like the most expensive used R34 GT-R of all time, it isn’t. Back in 2023, a very similar example changed hands for $455,000.
