Meet Arrera SD+, an Albanian hypercar with a 1,800-HP V8

Arrera Automobili had intended to show us Albania’s very first supercar, but it has scrapped that project since then: apparently, ‘super’ was not hyper enough.

The new ride shown in our gallery here is a hypercar prototype called SD+. It comes powered by a 7.0-liter V8 fitted with 90-degree pistons, capable of 1,800 PS (1,775 hp / 1,324 kW) and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) of torque.

The bodywork is all carbon. Arrera claims that every single body kit part has a function and serves to improve overall aerodynamic efficiency. For example, even the logo at the rear has been designed to help eject hot air from the engine bay while simultaneously letting cool air into the oil pump.

The company says it is confident that the SD+ will be able to reach 500 kilometers per hour (310 miles per hour).
