Alpine A110 says goodbye with R Ultime Edition

The R Ultime will be the most luxurious A110 trim to reach the market, but also the last one before the model retires.

Compared to most other A110 versions, this one utilizes a superior 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine instead of a 1.8-liter one. It produces 350 PS (345 hp / 257 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque, surpassing the base model by 50 horsepower and 80 Newton-meters. The transmission gets reinforced to withstand the higher torque, so the car can now sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.8 seconds in Launch Control mode – down 0.4 s from the standard 4.2 s.

To keep things stable, Alpine puts adjustable Öhlins shocks into the suspension, reinforces the brakes all around and replaces the stock exhaust system with an Akrapovic one made from titanium.

On the outside, the car wears an impressively advanced aero kit said to generate an additional 160 kilos (352 lbs) of downforce at peak acceleration. It rides on staggered wheels (18” front, 19” rear) shod in Michelin PS2 Cup tires.

Only 110 units will see the daylight. Prices start from €265,000 and may climb to €330,000 with all the option boxes ticked. Paying the maximum price outright nets you a bonus package called La Bleue, which upgrades the interior trim to luxury leather and Alcantara and transforms the exterior finish into a stylish gradient.
