Aston Martin DBX does get the V12, after all

As soon as Aston Martin unveiled its first SUV ever – the DBX – rumors began circulating that the car would be getting a V12 engine. Until today, only the 4.0-liter V8 TT by Mercedes-AMG had been confirmed on official terms.

Today, CEO Andy Palmer himself said the DBX would be getting a twelve-cylinder, dual-turbo engine a while after its initial market launch. He also agreed that special editions were also likely.

Palmer revealed this information after being asked by a reporter why the DBX had so much empty space under the hood. The AMG V8 is a relatively compact unit that does not need that much air around it.

Chances are good that the Aston Martin DBX will eventually join the company’s AMR performance lineup, like the DB11 did in the past.
