Retiring RS 6 Avant gets a 1,001-PS special edition from tuners

The current generation of the Audi RS 6 is no longer being produced, and the one planned for 2027 is shaping up to be a completely new car. For one thing, the sedan version is going to make a comeback. Whether that is a good product decision remains to be seen, but if you’d rather drive the old-school RS 6 Avant, MTM in Germany has you covered with a cool tuning package.

The family hauler seen here wears carbon-fiber trims on its bumpers and sides, and rides lower than stock on custom Y-spoke alloys. A peek behind the spokes reveals MTM-branded brake calipers, and another similar emblem decorates the radiator grille.

If that’s not enough customization for you, wait until you hear about the engine. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 was completely rebuilt and pumps out 1,001 PS (987 hp / 736 kW) to the wheels, taking the large wagon from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under three seconds. It’s not like the stock car wasn’t impressive with its 630 PS (621 hp / 463 kW), but the tuned one is on a whole different level.

Customers ordering the MTM RS6 Final Edition should look forward to a bespoke interior trimmed with leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber. The company also offers custom etching for the seat backs and headrests.

It’s unknown how much this unofficial “farewell edition” of the RS 6 costs, or how many units will be made, but common sense says you should act soon and order if you want yours before they are out of stock.
