Audi TT RS hits 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds thanks to 800 HP

The turbocharged Audi TT RS is a bit of a dark horse in the sports car world. It can’t boast exceptional looks, but does a good job pushing 400 horsepower to all four wheels and is comparatively easy to mod. Let us see just what it is capable of with some fine-tuning.

The owner of the coupe does not provide many details about it in the video, saying only that a “HUGE TURBO” was involved. One could only guess the magnitude of that, given that the engine literally doubled its efficient output to 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW).

As the race beings at a half-mile strip, it quickly becomes obvious that the Audi lacks traction: all four wheels spin idly, due to either the inappropriate rubber or slightly wet track. Having said that, it regains the grip in a moment and blasts off towards the finish. In the end, the clock shows 2.8 seconds to 100 km/h (62 mph), another 4.33 s to 200 km/h (124 mph) and 9.85 s to the quarter-mile notch. The exit speed at that notch is 268 km/h (166.5 mph).
