G-Power’s take on the BMW M240i almost makes the M2 obsolete

The tuning experts over at G-Power have developed a large-scale upgrade plan for the BMW M240i (G42), modifying its exterior, chassis, cabin and engine.

Starting with the biggest thing, the engine can be made to output up to 520 PS (513 hp / 382 kW) instead of its usual 374 PS (369 hp / 275 kW). This is achieved by upgrading the twin turbos and the intercooler, as well as installing sports-grade exhaust components along with an ECU update. The dynamic performance hasn’t been revealed, but it should be on par with that of the new M2 at less cost.

Those unwilling to pay for the top-of-the-line tuning kit can choose from three other options promising 420, 450 and 480 metric horsepower (414, 444 and 473 hp; 309, 331 and 353 kW, respectively). Racing-grade downpipes and a high-flow air filter are available separately, too. You can also hand in your own turbos for the upgrade to save a little on buying ready-made ones.

Also on the list are 19-inch forged wheels shod in Michelin rubber, branded floor mats, carbon-fiber paddle shifters, and a steering wheel also wrapped in carbon. For those interested, G-Power will retrim the entire cabin using quality leather.
