Tuning auto
The RM Sotheby’s subsidiary in Essen, Germany will be holding an auction sale this summer dedicated to a rare BMW 635 CSi coupe tuned by Hartge back in 1983.
The original 6 Series came out in October 1975 through 1989, and only received its successor – the E63/E64 – fourteen years later. Many well-known tuners, including Alpina, AC Schnitzer and Hartge, built customs based on it.
In its factory guise, the BMW 635 CSi came equipped with an inline-six engine capable of 218 hp (163 kW). Hartge offered three custom specs to choose from: the entry-level H6S (240 hp, or 179 kW), the ultimate H6-24 (330 hp, or 246 kW), and the middling H6SP (255 hp, 190 kW). The latter spec is the one being offered for purchase now.
Exterior traits include a sports exhaust system, new aluminum alloy wheels, Hartge emblems and decals on the sides, a moderate suspension lowering, and chromed fender flares.
The cabin is in good overall condition and boasts a custom steering wheel, floor mats, and a gear selector.
The price remains unannounced at this time.
