Have a look at a 5th-gen BMW 760Li reaching its speed limit on the autobahn

The old generation of the BMW 7-Series came with a particularly large and potent V12 engine in its top spec. This video shows just that: a fifth-gen 760Li saloon repeatedly hitting its top speed on a German speedway.

As you can see, reaching 250 km/h (155 mph) proceeds almost effortlessly for the 760Li, largely thanks to a now-discontinued six-liter, twin-turbo V12 sitting under the hood. The mill hits the transmission with 544 PS (536 hp / 400 kW).

As a luxury sedan, the 7-Series still needs 4.6 seconds for its 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint. The driver in the video also has to let go of the throttle on multiple occasions while in the left lane. Of course, most drivers reacted quickly and freed the lane when they saw the car approaching. Who wouldn’t?
