Drag Race: Tuned BMW M140i vs. Stock Porsche 911 Turbo S

Many will agree that the Porsche 911 Turbo S sets a benchmark in performance with its flat-six turbo driving four wheels. Officially Gassed still wanted to know whether the German sports icon would outdo a heavily tuned BMW M140i with the drive on the rear axle.

Starting with the 911, it commands 3.75 liters of displacement and makes 580 PS (572 hp / 427 kW) that a seven-speed PDK gearbox conveys to both axles. It is also rather lightweight at 1.6 metric tons (3,527 pounds).

The M140i makes do with a 3.0-liter inline-six engine, but numerous modifications bring its output to 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW). At 1,475 kilos (3,252 pounds), it is also noticeably lighter than its rival.

At this point, which one wins is largely determined by transmission power losses and drive configuration. Do you think the Bavarian has a chance? Decide for yourself and watch the 12-minute-long video to find out!
