BMW M5 CS outperforms Ferrari F8 Tributo with Manhart tuning

Manhart has previewed a tuning kit for the range-topping BMW M5 CS that ramps up the output of its 4.4-liter V8 to 823 PS (812 hp / 605 kW) – more than you get out of a stock Ferrari F8 Tributo, for example. The exterior stays close to stock, but the suspension and the cabin are new.

In its factory form, the engine produces 635 PS (626 hp / 467 kW) and 750 Nm (559 lb-ft) of torque. The car reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in three seconds.

The torque and other relevant dynamic performance numbers remain to be revealed, but even so, we would expect the saloon to launch even faster while packing close to 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft). For reference, the Manhart MH5 GTR revealed a while ago (see video) had a cool 935 Nm (690 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal, and that project was less extreme.

Manhart says that intensive use of carbon fiber allowed to reduce the weight by 70 kilograms (154 pounds). It never specified where the replacements were made, but mentioned compound-frame seats and alternative wheel rims among other things.
KW coilovers come standard, and those who want the full package may order a stainless-steel valve-controlled exhaust system.
