Vacuum bot maker aspires to outrace Bugatti on its home turf

Dreame Technology, a Chinese company mostly known for producing home appliances like robotic vacuum cleaners, has decided to follow the trends and become an automaker, too. And not just another one, either – it’s firstborn scheduled for 2027 is billed as a “luxury electric hypercar to rival Bugatti”.

If you still aren’t sold, here’s a tiny, blurry teaser pic to get you excited. According to Dreame, the modern ultra-luxury vehicle brands lack “intelligent technology” and electrification done right. The still-nameless new EV is supposed to “redefine the genre” by becoming the world’s fastest production car.

Nearly 1,000 employees are already working on the project. Dreame says it is actively looking to hire more professionals from the automotive and IT backgrounds. The latter is necessary for the car to be able to communicate naturally with the human behind the steering wheel, adjusting preferences and adapting to various situations. With a powerful AI on board, the EV will be able to integrate seamlessly with most smart devices and even smart home solutions, the company claims.

Unofficial reports suggest that Dreame is going to use an in-house-designed electric motor for its wannabe Bugatti slayer. It is reportedly a high-end unit capable of revving up to 200,000 RPM.
