GM is planning a comeback to Europe with Cadillac Lyriq

General Motors nearly wrapped up all activity in Europe in 2017, blaming several years of losses, but is now considering a second foray into that market, Bloomberg reports. Allegedly, the all-electric Cadillac Lyriq will be coming to Switzerland in early 2024 priced from 82,000 CHF. If it does well enough, the other markets will follow.

The Lyriq is Cadillac’s first production EV. It came out in the USA two years ago, offering a choice between RWD and AWD and up to 530 km (329 miles) of range. In Europe, the SUV is expected to face competition from battery-powered Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz models.

Cadillac plans to sell its EVs both online and via showrooms, and hopes to expand its presence to four other Old World markets before 2025.
