The Jaecoo J8 SUV will soon receive a new version in China, called the Supreme V. Its main selling feature is AWD with torque vectoring.
Rather than using a single AWD coupling at the rear axle, the car relies on a pair of side clutches that can receive different amounts of torque, allowing for a precise torque control between the rear right and the rear left wheel.
The company claims this design decision can make the J8 even more of a driver’s car while also improving its off-road capabilities. That’s mostly down to drive presets and tuning, though. We should learn more when the sales start – sometime later this spring, Jaecoo promises.
