Dayun Yuanhang Y6 goes into production in China

Chinese automaker Dayun Auto has started the production of an all-electric sedan called Yuanhang Y6. According to Car News China, the car was designed to compete with the likes of the Nio ET7 and Voyah Passion, and will go on sale when the Guangzhou Motor Show starts on November 17. In the meantime, you can already pre-order it for 329,800–528,800 Yuan.

The first showing was last summer. Dayun Auto, which had previously focused on trucks and cheap electric vehicles, unveiled the Yuanhang Y6 along with three other models to announce its intention to enter the premium segment of the market.

The newcomer is based on BHD, a chassis co-designed between Bosch and Huawei, and is 5,270 mm long. It is 2,000 mm wide and 1,500 mm tall with 3,130 mm between the axles. The roof is slanted, the doors are frameless, and there are five seats inside. The company claims the comfort is on par with S-Class models. The main interior features are a 17.38-inch infotainment display, a 70-inch projected HUD, and a 19-speaker audio system.

The buyers can choose from five motor/battery combinations. The rear-wheel-drive variants can be obtained with 340, 680 or 707 PS under the hood (335, 671 and 697 hp; 250, 500 and 520 kW, respectively). The batteries are 42, 88, 100 and 150 kilowatt-hours large.

If you opt for the only AWD spec available, you will get a solid 680 PS (671 hp / 500 kW), but only the smallest battery size. Depending on the version, the driving range can vary from 620 to 1,020 km (385–634 miles).
