Check out a 1968 Dodge Charger with 1,014 PS under the metal

A highly unique Dodge Charger ‘Dumbo’ restomod will hit the auction block next month. The car was made in the distant year 1968, but packs a modern engine existing in only 100 units worldwide.

Co-designed between Dodge and Mopar three years ago, the seven-liter mill is called Hellephant and was specifically envisioned as a crate engine for such custom cars. It delivers 1,014 metric horsepower (1,000 bhp / 746 kW) to the wheels and costs $29,995. The last bit is irrelevant, though, because all 100 units were sold within two days from the launch date.

This particular ride uses a T56 Magnum Stage II manual gearbox and a Strange S60 rear axle. It also benefits from Magnum Force suspension components, Rushforth wheels and Wilwood brakes.

The body was repainted in its original color, the lighting all around upgraded to LEDs, and a special dashboard and front panel added in the cabin. The seller neglected to mention the mileage and the acceleration times.
