Ferrari Testa Rossa lives again as a petite battery-powered replica

Hedley Studios has obtained a license from Ferrari to produce just three scale replicas of the legendary Testa Rossa race car that took part in the 1958 Le Mans endurance race. Dubbed the Lucybelle II, it is sized ¾ as large as the original and powered by a small-time electric motor.

The biggest emphasis in the project was evidently made on visual authenticity. The design team used CAD modeling and checked every hue against the Ferrari color table. Over a hundred work hours went into aging the paint job to resemble the scratched and scuffed exterior of the Le Mans prototype.

The lighting all around, the suspension and the interior were also executed with great care and attention to detail –in stark contrast to the powertrain. Where the original had a naturally aspirated V12, the imitation relies on a tame 16-hp (12-kW) electric motor. Drivers can switch between four presets, but even Race doesn’t let you go any faster than 80 km/h (50 mph). Once full, the battery delivers 90 km (56 miles) of range.

All pricing is private.
