The new Fiat Titano pickup is a rebadged Chinese truck

Automaker Fiat has complemented its global product lineup with a mid-size, body-on-frame pickup truck named the Titano. It will be offered in Latin America and Africa, but is far from being an all-new design.

In fact, the Titano is a mildly restyled Peugeot Landtrek from three years ago, which itself was a rebadged Kaicene F70 co-designed between the Chinese car company Changan and the now-defunct PSA Group.

Compared side-by-side with its French twin, the Titano only looks different. It has its own radiator grille, wheels and badges, but that’s about all. The interior has only been partially revealed so far with a digital dash, a steering wheel, a transmission selector and a standalone infotainment display. All of the above, plus the perforated leather seat trim, make us believe that the cabin is basically identical to that of the F70.

In Algeria, the truck can already be preordered with a 1.9-liter TDI engine, 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. The Single Cab version has only two driven wheels, but you can pay extra for a Crew Cab AWD variant.

According to Motor1, the model is also coming to Brazil soon. It will be produced at the Nordex factory in Uruguay where the abovementioned Peugeot Landtrek is currently being made. In Brazil, it will reportedly be available in only one version – Crew Cab powered by a 2.2-liter TDI rated at 200 PS (197 hp / 145 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.
