Ford lets customers in Europe to pick a design for a Puma ST special edition

Ford Europe is getting a limited series of the warmed-up Puma ST SUV ready to rumble, and you will be able to vote for the specific features to be included via Twitter or Facebook on June 1 through 10, 2021.

Users are invited to pick from an assortment of exterior decals, body finishes, caliper colors, and specify whether special badges should be present in the cabin. They can also vote for a tone of safety belt contrast stitching. Until a final design is decided upon, the company continues hiding the car under a tarp, leaving only the headlights out.

The standard Puma ST shown elsewhere in our gallery and in the attached video packs a 1.5-liter three-pot turbocharged to deliver 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed manual transmission takes it from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.7 seconds.

This wouldn’t be the first case like this in the industry: take the Smart Brabus fan edition, for example. Audience picked the name Tarraco for Seat’s crossover SUV back when that one came out, and Ford went as far as to build a unique Team Fordzilla P1 show car based on feedback gathered from 250,000 cybersport fans.

More details about the special edition will be revealed on June 18. Sales will start later this year, and the production quantity remains to be announced.
