Geely decided it wanted a slice of the delicious micro-EV market in China as well after seeing the Wuling Mini EV sell a whopping 316,000 units in the first nine months of 2022 alone. The newly revealed Geely Panda Mini will attempt to keep up with the market leader when it goes on sale in early 2023.
The tiny electric car has a sunroof, four seats and three doors. The driver is looking at a digital dashboard, and there is an 8-inch infotainment display on board. Options include HVAC, a wireless charging pad, windshield heating, key-free access, and a reversing camera.
The only electric motor the Panda Mini has is mounted on its rear axle, driving it with 41 PS (40 hp / 30 kW). The traction battery holds 17.3 kWh of power and roughly translates into 150 km (93 miles) of range.
Sales in China will begin in the first quarter of the next year with the base price as low as $5,700.
