Geely’s next-generation Emgrand sedan is larger than its predecessor with a revamped interior and more powertrain choices. Prices at launch range from 68,900 to 85,900 CNY, but will soon rise by 9,000 CNY across the board.
The saloon is sized 4,815 x 1,885 x 1,480 mm (188.1 x 73.6 x 57.8 inches) large with 2,755 mm (107.6 inches) between the axles. That’s whopping 177 mm (6.9 inches) longer than the previous generation with 105 mm (4 inches) of added wheelbase. Wheels come in sizes from 16 to 18 inches, and the suspension uses McPherson struts at the front with a semi-dependent setup in the back.
All propulsion is handled by a 1.5-liter engine, which can be ordered naturally aspirated or turbocharged. The former option delivers 120 PS (118 hp / 88 kW) and 150 Nm (110 lb-ft) via a CVT with eight emulated gears that you may shift among (or just leave it on auto). The latter mill churns out 181 PS (179 hp / 133 kW) and 290 Nm (214 lb-ft) of torque, routing it through a seven-speed DCT.
The interior has been reworked to resemble that of the marque’s larger and more upscale vehicles. Changes include a new dashboard with larger air vents and a standalone infotainment display now measuring either 10.1 or 14.6 inches from corner to corner depending on the trim level. The infotainment system runs the latest version of Flyme Auto OS. A Level 2 semi-autonomous driving package is available under options.
