Fuel-efficient Geely Galaxy Starshine 7 primes for launch

Geely has posted the first photos of its upcoming Starshine 7 sedan from the Galaxy lineup. Buyers are promised elegant looks, a tech-laden interior and a fuel economy on the order of 2 liters per 100 km (117.6 US-MPG; 141.2 UK-MPG).

With the pre-production tests all wrapped up, the production and sales in China are right around the corner. The car is 4,958 mm (193.7 inches) long, 1,915 mm (74.8 inches) wide and 1,505 mm (58.8 inches) tall with 2,852 mm (111.4 inches) between the axles.

Independent adaptive suspension at all four corners and 19-inch multi-spoke wheels are listed under standard features. In terms of looks, the Starshine 7 strongly resembles its sibling models – the smaller model 6 and the larger model 8 (see video).
Interior features include a large infotainment touchscreen, some traditional buttons on the center tunnel and a selector dial made of artificial crystal glass. The automaker’s Haohan H3 ADAS package is listed as available.

A 2.0-liter petrol four-pot and two e-motors combine their efforts for 424 PS (418 hp / 312 kW) and 526 Nm (388 lb-ft) of torque. Accelerating from standstill, you can expect to see 100 km/h (62 mph) on the speedometer in 5.4 seconds. With the larger out of two available batteries, all-electric range comes to 165 km (102 miles), the manufacturer claims.

All prices remain to be announced. The local media in China believe the Starshine 7 will start around 100,000 Yuan and top out at 150,000 Yuan or so (U.S. $14,520–21,780).
