11th-gen Honda Accord sedan coming to Japan in spring 2024

Honda has confirmed the intention to release the eleventh generation of Accord on its domestic market. Here are all the relevant details.

The exterior looks the same as the North American version unveiled last November, except for some minor retouches. The car rides on an improved version of its old chassis and is 4,971 mm long, 1,862 mm wide and 1,450 mm tall with 2,830 mm between the axles.

The unibody design stays largely the same, but new braces, reinforcements and welding points make it considerably more robust than the previous generation. Honda even promises easier handling and a smoother ride thanks to these improvements. The suspension uses McPherson struts at the front end and a multi-link system at the rear end.

In Japan, the new Accord will be offered exclusively as a hybrid called e:HEV. The core engine is a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated LFA mill with 145 PS (143 hp / 107 kW) and 175 Nm (129 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal. Assisted by an electric motor and a generator, it will send 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW) to the wheels. The battery pack is lithium-ion, and there are three drive modes to select from.

The interior gets a 10.2-inch digital dashboard, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and an 11.5-inch heads-up display.

Sales in Japan will start next spring.
