For a long time, Japanese tuning company Mugen produced its styling kits for the global version of the Honda ZR-V, ignoring its close relative known as the HR-V in North America due to some minor incompatibilities. Now that the two SUVs have been standardized, you can finally install the Mugen kit seen here on either car.
The list starts with a front bumper extension complete with faux-aluminum trim. It goes on to mention a number of matte-black trim details designed to replace the stock white ones, as well as new side skirts and low-drag mirror caps. The rear end gets a roof spoiler and a plastic tailgate trim. A diffuser seems to be not included this time around, but the rear bumper looks subtly tweaked all the same.
Further options include 19-inch alloy wheels and sports-grade suspension shocks co-designed with Yamaha. The 184-PS (181-hp / 136-kW) hybrid powertrain stays intact.
Most prices are already available for the Japanese domestic market. Converted into U.S. currency, the front bumper will set you back $620 for the regular ZR-V and $690 for the Cross Touring version. A full set of wheels costs $1,800, the shocks add $900, and a performance exhaust system comes in at $2,100. It remains unclear whether Mugen plans to export its kits abroad or not; enthusiasts may have to resort to third-party shipment services.
