JAS Motorsports, an Italian racing and engineering team famous for its partnership with Honda Racing, has struck a deal with Pininfarina to design what will be its first-ever street-legal car. It is slated to arrive in the first half of 2026.
The novelty coupe is being described as a reimagination of one of the legendary sports classics. The announcement does a good job maintaining the sense of mystery, but it does mention “state-of-the-art automobile technology”, so it could be an all-custom build or a restomod.
We are also promised a chassis that complies with the latest racing regulations and an exterior by Pininfarina that fuses the latest fashion trends with iconic details from the past. Just what car lies at the base is a riddle and a half, although we may have a tentative guess.
JAS says it will use its entire motorsports experience in designing the model. The company goes on to point out that its racecars had scored more than 900 victories and podiums in various events since 1995.
The teaser pic isn’t very revealing, either, but we suppose that JAS could be working on a revival of the Honda/Acura NSX. After all, it has a long-standing partnership with the Japanese brand, and what better candidate is there?
All production will be handled by the JAS Motorsport factory in Milan, Italy, and the quantity will be strictly limited.
