Chinese startup firm Huazi Auto has unveiled the Omega, a compact and wallet-friendly electric car sporting a rather weird exterior design. Domestic buyers will choose from two battery sizes; prices start from 49,800 CNY.
The compact vehicle is 3,444 mm long, 1,550 mm wide and 1,535 mm tall with 2,350 mm between the axles (134.5 x 60.5 x 60 x 91.8 inches). From a purely technical standpoint, the three-space body with two doors allows categorizing it as a coupe.
The interior remains to be revealed, but the company promises us room for four people, leather trim all around and a modern infotainment system with a 9-inch display.
The default traction battery holds up to 10.2 kWh of power and yields up to 128 kilometers (80 mils) of CLTC range. Opting for a larger 18.4-kWh battery pack lets you go 220 km (136 miles) on a charge. Both specs are all-wheel-drive by design, with a front electric motor driving the wheels with 5.4 hp (4 kW) and the rear one leading with 27 hp (20 kW).
