The second generation of the Hyundai Creta SUV has ascended the podium at the 2020 India Auto Expo.
The car is nearly identical to its Chinese counterpart – the ix25 – but comes with a Venue front grille and Kia Seltos engines (India spec). The exterior styling is original, and options list a panoramic glass roof.
The range will become available in March with three engines to decide between: 1.5-liter gasoline naturally aspirated (115 hp / 86 kW, 144 Nm / 106 lb-ft), 1.4-liter turbo (140 hp / 104 kW, 242 Nm / 178 lb-ft), and 1.5-liter diesel (115 hp / 86 kW, 250 Nm / 184 lb-ft). All three ship in tandem with a six-speed manual transmission, but you may pay extra to get a CVT (1.5 non-turbo only), a six-speed automatic (diesel only), or 7-speed DCT (1.4 turbo only).
The body dimensions are identical to those of the ix25: 4,300 mm (14.11 ft.) long, 1,790 mm (5.87 ft.) wide and between 1,620 and 1,635 mm (5.31 – 5.36 ft.) tall, depending on the version. The wheelbase amounts to 2,610 mm (8.56 ft.).
Prices will be announced closer to the India launch in March.
