Hyundai has announced a limited edition of its Ioniq 5 EV dedicated to the legendary Walt Disney Studios. The concept car named Disney100 Platinum premiered at the New York show this spring (photos no. 5–10 below), but the final production version (photos no. 1–4) looks much tamer in comparison.
Compared to the standard Ioniq 5, the limited series boasts a golden exterior finish and wheels resembling Mickey Mouse’s ears. A peek inside reveals headrests and an armrest embossed with the company’s logos, as well as branded floor mats.
Among other things, the interior looks slightly more upmarket with numerous small modifications. The infotainment system has a new boot animation screen accompanied by a Disney soundtrack. That’s all, though; the tech stays the same.
The NYIAS-2023 concept car had LED displays for headlights that could also play back video clips, but the company must have found them too much for a production car.
A total of 1,000 units will be made for the United States. The first orders will be processed in early 2024. Hyundai is officially working together with Walt Disney Company on this release and dedicates it to the studio’s 100th anniversary.
