The Ioniq 5 N NPX1 is a hardcore racecar that you can buy parts from

When Hyundai unveiled the racing-focused NPX1 edition of the electric Ioniq 5 N, it had envisioned it purely as a track tool. However, the company has now revealed that many of its details will be obtainable through the N Performance Parts list. Later on, the offer will expand to include OTA software updates.

Compared to the normal Ioniq 5 N, the NPX1 has a distinct front bumper with a splitter highlighted in blue, a larger air intake, and the N Division’s signature ends. The side sills and the carbon-backed mirrors are also new.

A glance at the rear reveals an impressively-sized diffuser and a matching rear wing. The company also points out carbon-fiber wheels and lowering springs.

There are still no interior shots. The automaker promises bucket seats and assorted carbon trim pieces these, as well as a number of downloadable software presets that will enable drivers to calibrate their cars however they want. These will not be released until the hardware components go on sale, however, which is set to happen sometime later in 2024.

The N version of the Ioniq 5 debuted last summer with revised looks, a reinforced chassis and powertrain options rated up to 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW). It goes 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.4 seconds.
