Next-gen Hyundai Venue lands in India

Hyundai has opened its preorder books for the new Venue crossover in India. Getting one booked is a trifling matter of 25,000 Rupees, but full prices are still pending.

The affordable SUV has grown 30 mm (1.2”) wider and 48 mm (1.88”) taller than its predecessor and is now sized 3,995 x 1,800 x 1,665 mm (165 x 70.3 x 65 inches) large. The wheelbase stays at 2,520 mm (98.4”). The automaker claims that the interior is now more comfortable with 20 mm (0.8”) of added legroom in the back, but comfort only goes so far in a sub-4-meter crossover.

LED bars squeezed between the DRLs at the front and the brake lights at the rear end lend the new Venue a much more modern appearance. It is complemented with a different radiator grille pattern, more pronounced fenders and a black “Venue” badge on the tailgate.

Pretty much the same goes for the interior, which now features a 62.5cm (24.4”) long curved display divided into two sections 12.3” of diagonal size. The driver’s seat is four-way power-adjustable, and the rear seats feature backs that recline in three available positions. The back row even gets its own pair of climate vents, something that wasn’t the case in the first generation. The steering wheel no longer wears the Hyundai badge, but has dots on the hub that mean “H” in Morse alphabet.

Customers in India are choosing from three powertrain options. A 1.2-liter, naturally aspirated Kappa engine is good for 83 PS (82 hp / 61 kW). Its 1.0-liter Kappa Turbo alternative delivers 120 PS (118 hp / 88 kW), and a 1.5-liter U2 CRDi diesel manages 100 PS (99 hp / 74 kW). Manual and dual-clutch are available all across the range, but the diesel is the only one that can go fully automatic.

The Korean automaker claims it has already sold over 700,000 Venue units in the country. The current version starts from 849,000 Indian Rupees. The new generation is slated to arrive in the showrooms on November 4, 2025.
